Welcome to the 30-Day American Accent Challenge! Today's assignment is to get a baseline of your speech, so you have something to compare to as you make progress over the next 30 days. Use one of the recording tools below to record yourself for a short speaking task. Talk about work, or pretend you're telling a friend about something you did over the weekend. Speak about topics you usually talk about when speaking American English.
For a baseline sentence, record yourself saying the following:
It’s the first day of the 30 day accent challenge, and I sound really great.
We'll use this recording later in the course to look at specific accent patterns, so save your recording.
